Lynch Syndrome Testing

We’re Offering Lynch Syndrome Genetic Testing and Counseling

Lynch syndrome is usually inherited in an autosomal dominant way—meaning if one parent has a gene mutation for Lynch syndrome, then there is a 50% chance that each child will inherit the mutation and have a higher risk for cancers.

Our genetic counselors can meet with you and help you determine if you need genetic testing for Lynch syndrome and other cancers. The testing is simple, and only requires a swab and one tube of blood.

NOVALAB  testing will look for changes in genes that show if you have Lynch syndrome. These genes include:

  • MLH1
  • MSH2
  • MSH6
  • PMS2
  • EPCAM

NOVALAB Reference Medical Lab offers genetic counseling after the testing. Our genetic counselors can recommend appropriate lifelong cancer screening based on risk factors and test results.

Hereditary Cancer Genetic Counseling and Testing (CGX)

Hereditary Cancer Genetic Testing (CGX)

Hereditary Cancer Genetic Counseling and Testing (CGX)

We are now providing  Hereditary Cancer Genetic  Counseling and Testing (CGX). Hereditary cancer is believed to be responsible for 10% of all diagnosed cancers.

Genetic tests are available for some types of cancer.

  • Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer.
  • Ovarian cancer is the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer among women.
  • Colorectal cancer affects about 5% of individuals in their lifetime.
  • Uterine cancer affects about 1 in 37, less than 3% of women.
  • Pancreatic and kidney cancer are next in a list of hereditary cancer.

Non-invasive hereditary cancer screening may let you know if you are genetically predisposed to certain hereditary cancers and help you make medical decisions about cancer screening, prevention or medical treatments.

It can also help people qualify for treatment clinical trials enrolling people with hereditary cancer.

The CGX test process is a simple, either buccal swab or blood test. This test allows your health care provider to create a proactive plan for your future.
