There are different kinds of nose swabs – including nasal swabs that collect a sample in the lower part of your nostrils, and nasopharyngeal swabs that reach further up into the nasal cavity.
COVID-19 Negative (SARS-CoV-2 RNA Not Detected) Test Result
If your COVID-19 test is negative, this means that the test did not detect the presence of COVID-19 in your nasal secretions. This result suggests that you are not currently infected with COVID-19. However, even if you test negative, we still recommend wearing a face mask in public and following social distancing recommendations.
